O astfel de pauz\u0103 a luat \u015fi \u00een &#8217;57, c\u00e2nd criza din Suez a \u00eempiedicat emiterea cupoanelor de carburant pentru raliuri, dar \u015fi \u00een &#8217;74, dintr-un motiv ce ne r\u0103m\u00e2ne necunoscut.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>Rom\u00e2nul care a cucerit Monte Carlo<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00cen 1931, un t\u00e2n\u0103r de 22 de ani din Bucure\u015fti, pleac\u0103 la volanul unui Dodge Victory Six cu destina\u0163ia Monte Carlo. Va ob\u0163ine pozi\u0163ia a 11-a \u00een cadrul acestei edi\u0163ii. Particip\u0103rile ulterioare, din 34 \u015fi 35 \u00eei vor aduce pozi\u0163iile 18, respectiv 15, la volanul unui Ford V8 modificat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dup\u0103 acestea, al\u0103turi de Ionel Zamfirescu \u2013 copilotul s\u0103u, va lucra la modificarea unui V8 de uzin\u0103, pus la dispozi\u0163ie de Ford. Ma\u015fina rezultat\u0103 p\u0103stra doar masca radiatorului, capota, blocurile de lumini, aripile, parbizul \u015fi bordul. Despre produsul final, Petre Cristea a sus\u0163inut c\u0103 nu ar fi putut fi mai u\u015for.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00cen 1936, Petre G. Cristea, la volanul Fordului modificat, al\u0103turi de Ionel Zamfirescu \u015fi mecanicul Gogu Constantinescu pleac\u0103 din Atena spre Monte Carlo. Cinci ani dup\u0103 debutul s\u0103u la Monte Carlo, acesta parcurge traseul f\u0103r\u0103 s\u0103 acumuleze niciun punct de penalizare. \u00cen proba final\u0103, un fel de super special\u0103 a vremii, Cristea ob\u0163ine timpul de 1 minut \u015fi 5 secunde, securiz\u00e2ndu-\u015fi victoria. Acesta c\u00e2\u015ftig\u0103 raliul, \u00een timp ce Sainz cade pe pozi\u0163ia secund\u0103. \u00cen &#8217;95, motivarea lui Sainz este evident\u0103. Acesta c\u00e2\u015ftig\u0103 raliul cu o diferen\u0163\u0103 de 2:25 de Delecour.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Edi\u0163iile &#8217;96 \u015fi &#8217;97 \u00eei vor g\u0103si pe Delecour \u015fi Sainz pe treptele inferioare ale podiumului, pentru ca \u00een &#8217;98 spaniolul s\u0103 c\u00e2\u015ftige pentru a 3-a \u015fi ultima oar\u0103 Raliul Monte Carlo. Atunci, podiumul a fost completat de una dintre legendele raliului modern, Colin McRae. McRae va avea aceea\u015fi performan\u0163\u0103 \u015fi \u00een 1999.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Din &#8217;99 p\u00e2n\u0103 \u00een 2002, Raliul Monte Carlo a fost locul de joac\u0103 al lui Tommi Makinen. \u00cen perioada aceasta, Sainz oscileaz\u0103 \u00eentre pozi\u0163ia secund\u0103  \u015fi locul 3, Delecour are o ultim\u0103 apari\u0163ie \u00een 2001, urm\u00e2nd ca din 2002 pozi\u0163ia secund\u0103 s\u0103 fie ocupat\u0103 de Loeb.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>Dinastia Sebastienilor<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00cencep\u00e2nd din 2003, Raliul Monte Carlo a fost dominat de Sebastieni. Cu excep\u0163ia edi\u0163iilor din 2006 (c\u00e2\u015ftigat\u0103 de Groenholm), 2010 (Hirvonen) \u015fi 2011 (Bouffier), victoriile s-au \u00eemp\u0103r\u0163it \u00eentre Loeb \u015fi Ogier.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bun\u0103oar\u0103, Loeb a c\u00e2\u015ftigat (aproape) fiecare edi\u0163ie din intervalul 2003-2013, l\u0103s\u00e2ndu-i lui Ogier ocazia de a-\u015fi demonstra competen\u0163ele superioare \u00een 2009.
